America’s Top Beauty Tips

Sure, there are many beauty tips to steal from women round the world, but experts agree there are some moves they might learn from us.

Avoid the sun
“Many women in Russia and Europe still believe tanned skin is healthier,” says Marianna Blyumin-Karasik, MD, a cosmetic dermatologist in the Baumann Cosmetic Research Institute in Miami. But Americans tend to be more vigilant about sun-protection and, consequently, have fewer dark spots than those far-flung tanners.
Don’t smoke
Those who have sat inside a smoky café abroad knows the quality of air is better at home-and that’s the best thing. Dermatologists say contact with cigarette smoke can accelerate aging.
Embrace hair color
Dyeing your hair care a lot more than 65 percent of yankee women do, based on a Procter & Gamble study-takes years off how you look. “Full, shiny, richly-colored locks are a trademark of youth,” Dr. Blyumin-Karasik explains.”
